VOYAGE 2019 college students’ international exchange learning work in summer vac

In recent years, our school has attachedgreat importance to the work about the internationalization of education, which focuses on expanding the college students' international vision,promoting their international communication and learning ability and cultivating international talents. Our school elaborately planned and implemented the VOYAGE plan, and actively carried out international exchange learning programs for college students. This summer vacation, our school organized students to Azerbaijan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and other countries to carry out more than 20 projects, such as cultural exchanges, summer courses, scientific research cooperation, professional practice, sending a total of more than 100 students. Our school attached great importance to the process management and service of students’ exchange learning projects, strictly selecting and sending teachers to lead the team, keeping each project being mastered in real time, comprehensively ensuring the whole visiting progress could be proceeded smoothly. VOYAGE 2019 college students’ international exchange learning work in summer vacation has achieved a complete success.

There were three features of this summer holiday's VOYAGE project. Firstly, it was the first time for our school to launch a famous university project. After multiple contacts, our school launched the summer training project with some world's best universities, such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University,National University of Singapore,Nanyang Technological University ,Waseda University and so on, which aimed to build a high-level stage for international communication and study as well as shorten the distance between students and these famous university. The project benefited nearly 30 students. Secondly, it was the first time for our school to exchange both Chinese students and foreign students. During the time when the students from Confucius Institude, Azerbaijan University of Languages came China for summer camp, our school firstly sent 20 students who were major in Russian to Azerbaijan University of Languages for training. Thirdly, all the majors in our school were included in the VOYAGE project. There were many aspects in this summer holiday's project, such as major study, culture exchange, science exploration, languages learning and so on, which made all the majors were included in the VOYAGE project .As for the design of this project,in order to create a strong atmosphere of studying, our school devoted itself to carry out various of learning activities, leaded by the topic of“mainly counting on the school learning communication, off-campus human activities as a support”. For example, Oxford University's training project mainly focused on deep learning in class. Students buried in full-English lectures,feeling the way that teacher taught. They carried out the group discussion and replied the reports seriously.

All the students who have joined the VOYAGE 2019 summer holiday project said that they have benefited a lot. Wu Yi, a student coming from school of Teacher Education and taking part in the Summer program of Harvard University said, " I truly appreciate it that my school can offer this opportunity. I really don’t imagine that I can sit in the classroom of Harvard University and listen to top professors,which made me feel quite lucky. During those two weeks, we had courses in Harvard every morning, including Global strategic planning, Economic globalization and leadership. The form of the course was based on heuristic exploration and everyone was extremely involved, which made me fully feel the charm of academic freedom and left a deep impression on me". A student named Cheng Yuhua from the school of foreign languages who has taken part in Summer program of Cambridge University said, "My study in Cambridge has taught me the concept of shared learning. What is the most amazing is that our group won the first prize at the end of the course and got the letter of recommendation signed by the academician of Cambridge University. It makes me confident in applying for graduate study in world famous universities. "

The next stage, the foreign affairs office as well as other relevant functional departments will further expand diplomat channels, aiming at the goal of school's international development and students' professional learning needs to strengthen communication and exchange with foreign universities and actively do a good job in international exchanges work of students.
